Monroe Smith and his young family moved to Arlington in the early 1970s following his 5 years in the US Navy.
His path would lead from Texas Instruments to opening the first of 4 stores, The Little TV Shoppe; expansion into home video rentals preceded Blockbuster and brought in more customers, who found excellent service and prices.
In time, new technologies ended TV shops and video stores.
Exploring new opportunities, Monroe listened to a friend and went into roofing sales.
The company's treatment of customers and crew he found to be subpar.

We would like to send Shingles Roofing, Cory Smith, and his entire crew a HUGE "Thank you" for doing such a tremendous job on our new roof!
Shingles took what most people would consider a daunting task and turned it into an effortless project for us - from beginning to end.
We will highly recommend Shingles Roofing to our clients, family, friends, and neighbors going forward.
It was a new experience for me and I found several of the roofing companies I consulted to be aggressive and off-putting.
